The UK team

This is headed by Sue Gregory, Joint Managing Director, and a British National who has lived and worked in Sri Lanka over a number of years where she has been involved in the Tourism Industry. She understands the requirements of British holidaymakers and has been able to impart that knowledge to the Company’s Sri Lankan Guides and Drivers so they are much better informed and the service that The Unique Travel Company is second to none.

Our team has visited all the hotels that the Company uses and has done all the activities so can give you an honest opinion of things you want to include in your itinerary as well as many travel tips!

The Sri Lankan team

This is headed by Roshan Fernando, Joint Managing Director, who has been in the Tourism Industry in Sri Lanka for over 20 years. He is one of the country’s leading National Tourist Guide Lecturers and has been qualified for over 15 years. He knows Sri Lanka intimately which means that we are able to organise visits and do activities so you can really get under the skin of the country and experience the real Sri Lanka!

Both teams are actively involved in the raising of finances for the Projects that the Company supports such as building Tsunami houses, English books for schools, toys for Orphanages and Feast Days for poor people.

Your guides in Sri Lanka

All our Chauffeur guides are all local Sri Lankans who are qualified to take to drive up to 6 tourists around and act as a guide. They all drive air-conditioned vehicles and are careful drivers. Their English is good so you will have no problems with communication

Our National Tourist Guide Lecturers have all passed a rigorous course organised by The Ceylon Tourist Board and are licensed. This qualification is the highest that can be achieved in the tourism industry and less than 60 per year qualify. To practice as a National Tourist Guide Lecturer in Sri Lanka without a valid license issued is illegal, and is a punishable offence. All our National Tourist Guide Lecturers possess excellent English.
