This Hotel in Kitulgala is an old colonial rest house which has a delightful situation right beside the Keleni River.
The restaurant terrace has great views over the Keleni River and the surrounding lush rainforest. Being a rest house, the rooms are more basic than other available accommodation but they are cosy and comfortable with a quirky feel.
The hotel pool is close to the river. They even have a car museum containing a number of vintage Rolls Royces, Ferraris and Porsches!

Kitulgala is a small town within the lush Sri Lankan rain forest and the Keleni River that snakes it way through the forest is famous for being the location of the award winning World War 2 film “The Bridge on the River Rwai”. To this day you can still see the foundations of the bridge that was blown up in the film.
