The Lakeside hotel in Anuradhapura was formerly known as Tissa Wewa Grand Rest House (it looks over Tissa Wewa- this is a lake) and was originally built by the British in 1907. It then became a former Dutch governor's residence.
More recently it has undergone a total renovation bringing it into the 21st-century so it now offers very comfortable accommodation at an affordable price in the historic city of Anuradhapura.
There four types of room available at The Lakeside hotel; the Superior room, Semi deluxe room, Deluxe room and Suite room. The Superior room is equipped with adjoining bathroom with shower, air conditioning, safe, tea and coffee maker, hair dryer, widescreen TV with satellite, mini bar, room service and free Wi-Fi.
