We were very happy with the tour. The office was very helpful, efficient & responded immediately to all our queries. Our itinerary gave a good insight in to the country. We had a full programme of timing of each day which was very helpful. We saw all that we wanted without feeling too rushed.

We loved our time in Sri lanka. Unique travels put together the perfect tour of culture, History & the natural environment. We are glad we arranged a few days rest at the end of the tour as we were ready to put our feet up & it was like another mini holiday after seeing all sites.

The Unique travel company did a great job of putting together a tailor made package to suit our requirements and budget. As we were travelling with kids[9 and 7] it was great to have a package which included such a varied mix of activities such as Jeep Safaris, White Water Rafting+ Hiking as well as the cultural highlights.

My two teenage daughters and myself took the family tour of Sri Lanka. The mix of things to do was perfect. We all had a different favourite.The hotels were all very different, but all of a great standard and were somewhere to relax at the end of a long day.Our Guide/ Driver Lalendra was tireless in making sure we did all the things we wanted to and gave us a brilliant insight in to Sri Lankan life, Heritage etc.Unique travels will be recommended to our family & friends for giving us a fantastic first experience of Sri Lanka.

We chose to do 7 days tour with `Unique` and have been pleased with both, the itinerary and our driver. We managed to tailor make a package that suited a balance of culture , great food and outdoor activities.On meeting our driver, he was helpful, friendly, efficient & knowledgeable throughout the trip .He was added value and made the whole trip run smoothly from place to place.We have all continued to say we would recommend Unique travels to every one we know.

We have always wanted to visit Sri Lanka & we are very glad that we chose `Unique ` to do so.The company was very accommodating when we asked if we could do a train ride as an extra.They also suggested doing a Bullock cart ride when we asked about doing an extra traditional activity.Unique travels gave us a more personal tour than the big companies. We felt that we saw more of the real Sri Lanka than we might have done on a more commercialized trip.We liked the way that we could tailor make some elements of the tour + The organized itinerary was a great mixture of cultural visits, Scenery, Wild life & fun activities such as Cycling, Walking and the White water rafting.

We had a fantastic 15 days trip with so much verity- Wild life, Relaxing beaches & stunning culture.The best bits were often the simplest-Learning about the food and the spices, seeing how they grow and cooking them.We had an unfailingly positive travel experience with interest for all ages in a widely colourful and peaceful place.We loved it all.

We found Sri Lanka to be a great place to visit. Its exotic , vibrant, particular but very friendly, welcoming and easy to travel around. Unique travels met our brief exactly with white water rafting, Elephants, tea train & surfing all packaged well for a teenage family. Very knowledgeable our guide was a legend.

Our holiday to Sri Lanka was fantastic and memorable in every way. Unique Travel organised a fabulous and imaginative itinerary, including the combination of “Off the Beaten Track” and Luxury accommodation fascinating cultural sites, spectacular hiking in remote areas, wonderful safari and down-time too! Our driver/guide, Paul, was fantastic too and really made the holiday for us.

The Unique Travel Company delivered on all promises and expectations. The Off the Beaten Path trip in Sri Lanka proved to be a wonderful escape and insight into the Sri Lankan countryside. The travel was effortless due to the attentive services provided by our guide/driver.

Four of us travelled for 18 days on the “Off the Beaten Track” itinerary. It was perfect. There was a lot of diversity in the balance of cultural and outdoor activities. The Sri Lankan people are very gracious and welcoming. We were thrilled with our driver/guide, Anton. He took excellent care of us and happily adapted a couple of our activities when we wanted. Not an easy challenge putting together a tour that offers 3 teenagers culture and fun!  We challenged Sue to show us the ‘real’ Sri Lanka and this she managed. We have loved every minute of our trip and the sights and people we’ve seen have been amazing. It’s hard to say which of the days/trips with our favourite because they have all been special. Although seeing wild elephants at the side of the road is right up there! Paul, our driver was excellent and has added to our special trip. We went to Sri Lanka looking for a max of the sightseeing, nature and sports – the children usually don’t enjoy monuments and cultural activities. We discovered and experimented many things for first time and the vision in my kids eyes had no price…. We bring with us unforgettable moments.

The company was recommended by a friend. We requested their help for the middle seven days of our holiday, arranging the remaining days ourselves. Having visited Sri Lanka before we asked Sue to provide us with an itinerary that included our “must sees” plus some recommendations based on her expertise. We got everything we wish for and so much more, including a driver who went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied with every aspect of our holiday, and that we didn’t miss a thing. Our accommodation range from the most basic to the height of luxury, enabling us to experience a true taste of the diversity that this beautiful country has to offer. I will remember many brilliant experiences of from this trip – riding Rani the elephant, holding a two-day old turtle, the festival in Kandy, Safari and cycling through the beautiful countryside. Chaminda was lovely and we will be emailing him some pictures on our return. The hotels were a much higher quality than we expected – Hotel Thilanka being our favourite. The people of Sri Lanka are very friendly and we never felt badgered with goods or for money as you are in other countries.

We were driven by an excellent, helpful and well-informed driver to the various sites, e.g. temples, ancient monuments, local beauty spots as well as the beaches, elephant transit camp and best of all the game drives. I have fallen in love with the wonderful Sri Lankan people and their beautiful country and would love to come back and visit again.

Unique put together a superb tour for the eight of us and topped it with a truly excellent team of driver, assistant and guide. Because the guide spoke excellent English, he was able to act as a bridge to help us understand many aspects of the culture and bring us the extra experiences that make a special trip special – a meal in a local family’s house; eating beautiful curries off Lotus leaves with our hands: a walk around a village getting glimpses of what people grow in their gardens. All this on top of flexing the itinerary when rain, heat or tiredness made a change of plan necessary. We had lessons in Singhalese every day so that we could at least greet and thank people properly. Thank you to all who made our trip so special.

Thanks for organising an amazing trip for us! We had a fantastic adventure – everything went so smoothly from pick up at the airport right through to the end of our trip. Paul was great – brilliant with the kids and always made sure we had everything we needed. Right from the start, all of our queries were dealt with promptly, any of our suggestions were looked into thoroughly and all of our requirments were met. Our driver, Dulantha, was fantastic – he was very knowledgeable and interesting. All of the sights that we saw and activities we went on were brilliant. We wouldn’t have changed anything! We particularly enjoyed our guided walk through the paddy fields, seeing local villages and eating traditional Sri Lankan meals cooked by villagers. Other highlights were seeing 100 elephants in Minneriya, white water rafting at Kithulgala and the train ride from Ella to Horton Plains. We would thoroughly recommend The Unique Travel Company.

It was our first visit to Sri Lanka, although we have it travelled extensively throughout Asia and India. Sri Lanka is an amazing place and Sue put together the ideal trip to experience some of the highlights. The service was great and very personal and our guide/driver really made a special three weeks.
